Defining Success

A society which defines a role or rule, when that becomes a hurdle for itself, it will again tend to redefine it according to the newest needs. 

Life cannot be at ease always as we desire. We cannot neglect the desires too. So what is the connection between desires and success. I'm longing for someone to call me a successful person. But I know no one would. Then the longing shall have to cease. Does success means as what is defined by the society? Does it means materialistic benefit? Does it means a luxurious car? Does it mean an accomplishment and promotion in the social status? Does it mean we become a public speaker admired by many? Does it mean holding some president post somewhere in an institution? Does it mean the technological accomplishment?

It can be anyone of this or all of this. But is that the real meaning or definition of success. When analyzing the scenarios in deep, I understood only one thing, not the matter whether it is big or small, if a conflict arises from an accomplishment which leads us to sorrow, then merely it cannot be defined as success itself. Am I not right? We run for money, to build a new house, to buy Mercedes, to keep us physically healthy, but after all do we have the necessary happiness and peace. There are many who are living with conflicts, though they are financially sound. So how come materialistic benefit and advancement is success?


We are aware most of the leaders, religious or political, are not ethical in their aspects. So how could it mean they are successful in life? I have read somewhere in the web that "Appraisals" for a promotion in a company, are just formalities to try maximum to keep the employees at the positions where they are now. I have a personal experience too. Then how could it be a success.

Now the society will open its mouth, "You have to overcome these all obstacles, that is the real success", the society of modern corporate paradigm with a philosophy of "Partial Honesty". We cannot lock its mouth. If I have to overcome these obstacles, then I have to be unethical. If I talk ethics, people call me mad. An accomplishment called success is for recognition, a social recognition. In another way, if I want to show that I'm not crossing any ethics, then is that for non-sense reputation? Answer Less. I can't understand the definition of this strange society.

One which I understood is, an accomplishment, regardless of its size, regardless of the matter, if on accomplishing it will give peace of mind, mindful of happiness and harmony for those near and dear, then it could be called as success.

Not necessarily this success has to be published in media, facebook or someone to recognize it. applaud it, click on the like button, comment that it is too good. It is an accomplishment of what is desired, which creates happiness without conflicts. That is the actual recognition. The recognition of the awakened mind.
